Job Description

• To serve as the lead Environmental and Social Responsibility professional for the company.
• To be Business Partner for the sites on Environmental & Social programs.
• To participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and refinement of safety, health, environmental, and social responsibility procedures, programs, and related required training.
• To develop/update and support the implementation of the IT tool/s using to manage the HESSR activities, records, and statistics.
• To develop/update and support the implementation of Regulatory & Compliance, Conformance Review & Audit programs to ensure all activities at the sites comply with the local regulations and corporate  Environmental and Social Responsibility programs.
• To lead & support internal audits and conformance reviews for HQ & sites.
• To analyze and report the details of  Environmental and Social Responsibility performances.
• With continuous improvement mind-set, to make suggestions for the development of new programs according to the analysis.
• To determine and report the risk level by investigating the sites and documents in new site/company purchases.
• To follow up and guide the site teams regarding environmental issues in the sites and to make preventive suggestions to the management regarding the risks.
• To work independently on a daily/weekly/monthly basis providing high-quality reports and analysis in  Environmental and Social Responsibility.
• To get daily interaction with staff at all levels in HQ and sites. 
• To get periodic interaction with local authorities and regulatory agencies.
• Direct reports to HESSR Director. 

Requirements

• B.A. / B.S. / M.S. preferably in environment engineering.
• Preferably to have 2-3 years of experience in HESSR management.
• To have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in related operations (mining, U/G mining, ferroalloys,etc.).
  To have a minimum of 3-5 years of total experience in Environmental management.
  To have leadership and management experience and skills.
  To have a working knowledge of local regulations as well as other regulatory standards, including, but not limited to, international standards, Best Available Practices, EBRD standards, etc.
  To have the ability to present information to the top management effectively.
  To have a proven track record of driving a cultural change in HESSR.
  To have the ability to balance and prioritize multiple & multidiscipline projects.
  To have strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills both in Turkish and English. Russian is a plus.
  To have the related Environmental & Social Responsibility certification/s.
  To have an active organization and time management skills.
• To have a minimum of 3-5 years of total experience in Environmental management.
