Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description

• Verifies and approves new or changed components production processes through application of Yazaki APQP/component verification process in accordance to environmental, quality and any relevant Yazaki or customer requirements.
• Pro-actively collaborates with affected affiliates and BU's in order to obtain functional engineering and design approval.
• Identify and analyse suspect components and initiate actions like customer involvement, engineering involvement to reduce quality incidents on purchased materials and initiate re-qualifications
• Support supplier profiling and risk assessments and initiate supplier action plans for improvement in order to support reduced quality and logistic risks during sourcing decision and approval process. Drive relevant risk assessment and mitigation action as part of sourcing recommendation and approval package.
• Perform supplier system/process audits including run and rates and capactity checks in accordance to Yazaki and customers' standards. Define and follow up audit action plans and collaborate with European supplier development Lead Auditor
• Material sample submission and approval (PPAP or adaequate)"  
• Manage all activities defined per Yazaki’s project management system (YPMS) within customer projects in order to achieve full material or product approval until start of production under consideration of customer specific standards and project requirements together with advanced purchasing  and project managers.
• Report out status of APQP (including all components on BOM) and YPMS deliverables in functional reviews and gate meetings.
• Uses the APQP tracking tool for all new Yazaki developed components in cooperation with the related project suppliers to ensure APQP status transparency
• Utilization of MPPS for all M2 parts
• Coordinates the related SDDC, and plant activities and collaboration with BU buyer and project management.
• Coordinate and supervise all supplier initiated changes related to process, design and other in order to ensure appropriate verification and part approval of components.
• Makes sure that related internal parties are involved and informed about any relevant change affecting final Yazaki products performance.
• Continuously supports analysis of improvement potentials in the SICR process and drive effectiveness in change management time and efficiency.
• Launch support for suppliers to ensure flawless launch in customer and Yazaki affiliates
• Support Yazaki affiliates in case of issues in serial production with project knowledge and involve commodity SQE if needed"  
• Drive all supplier monitoring and development activities for BU exclusive suppliers.     
• Continously drives analysis of improvement potentials in the process landscape of Supply Management and takes the lead on CIP activities of identified potentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant fields)
• Minimum 4 years experience in similiar positions
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Advanced level of MS Office Applications
• Self-motivated, analytical thinking, result oriented approach and good interpersonal skills are required competencies
• Male candidates should have completed military service
