A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to play a lead role in building a new C2B2B online used car marketplace (VavaCars) that leverages our extensive network of petrol stations and worldwide respected brand of our parent company, Vitol.

As a technology first start-up we Dive Deep across all our financial KPIs and financial performance. We believe in detail and thus, use our financial accounts and metrics to understand our business, drive action and deliver results.

Role Mission 

You will be enthusiastic and passionate about finance and accounting matters with a strong attention to detail and bias for action on preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, accounting books, tax filings, insurance and everything finance. As this is one of our most impactful roles in our Turkey operation you will work best when things move fast. You will enjoy working with smart, creative and energetic people and we encourage you to take initiative and make independent decisions every day.

Specifically you will: 

Own bookkeeping and P&L reports and procurement

Manage an accountant to support you in Financial Operations, including bookkeeping, invoicing, cash flow reconciliation

Support in the preparation of the company’s local budget

Responsible for the local Accounts Receivable and Payable functions

Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to the leadership while recommending further courses of action

Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take

Manage working capital, deal with banks for floor plan and dealer financing

Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to business plans

Develop trends and projections of the Turkey operations

Manage and oversee Insurance policies and asset registers

Liaise with local auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained

Liaise with external CPA on preparing TBs, closing monthly accounts, preparing and filing of taxes (KDV, withholding, corporate, stamp duty)

Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken

Requirements

We are looking for a Finance Manager who is experienced and will enjoy building and owning finance functions within this high growth environment. You will take ownership of the operational financial health of our Turkish operations, whilst maintaining a high overview of strategic objectives. You will be working with all aspects of finance including bookkeeping, cash flow, AP and AR, and managing a small but growing Finance team. You will have the opportunity and scope for growth as our company grows. Your goal will be to enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives, whilst keeping the day to day finance function running seamlessly.

Proven experience as a Finance Manager in a similar environment - 5 years

Knowledge of auto financing, regulations and taxes

Bookkeeping treasury experience

Ability to work in a global environment, high pace, pressured environment

Experienced user of finance software, Logo (Xero is a plus)

Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used

A solid understanding of financial metrics and accounting principles

Working knowledge of all local statutory legislation and regulations

BS/MA degree in finance ACCA, ACA, CIMA

Fluent English (Written and Verbal)
