The Opportunity

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to play a lead role in building a new C2B2B online used car marketplace (VavaCars) that leverages our extensive network of petrol stations and worldwide respected brand of our parent company, Vitol. Reporting directly to the Senior Business Development Manager, this is a key role in building and growing the overall volume of cars traded through our platform.

Role Mission

Your mission is to rapidly build, grow and yield optimise the monthly volume of cars purchased from corporate and SME accounts; this is a B2B role with an emphasis on absolute monthly volumes and MoM volume growth of cars acquired and subsequently re-marketed through our dealer channel.

Working as part of a well-funded and highly ambitious start-up unit, your role will be a hands-on role with real responsibility and impact from day one


  • To identify, evaluate and pursue opportunities for long-term, profitable, corporate and SME channel growth through customer acquisitions and disposals
  • To develop the overall Business Development Strategy for Corporates and SMEs in line with our overall monthly targets and in sync with our brand and customer obsessed culture
  • To convert the B2B acquisition and disposals strategy into an operating plan with SMART goals
  • To continuously manage and develop our overall value proposition for vehicle acquisitions and disposals by segment; to craft a market disruptive position deeply rooted in ‘Thinking Big’ and ‘Customer Obsession’.
  • To actively manage and prioritise a pipeline of key accounts and long tail accounts through superior customer service, responsiveness and programming that helps us stand out from the crowd
  • To partner extensively with the CRM Manager and the wider Marketing team to conceive and develop CRM programs designed to drive lead generation and overall customer lifecycle management
  • To partner extensively with the wider Operations team through an SOP designed to deliver speed and responsiveness to prospects for quotes and inspections of fleets
  • To partner extensively with the Pricing and Sales teams to ensure all pricing and purchasing operations adhere to a strictly defined SOP; there can never be any deviations from the SOP when buying cars
  • To produce and present regular reporting and insights on all aspects of B2B purchasing and disposals to the wider Business Development team and the Snr Management including the CEO
  • To be the internal voice of high value B2B accounts and champion their requirements in the development of our value proposition and product / service offerings
  • To actively monitor and evaluate the wider competitive landscape and remain tactical around short term opportunities to win account


  • BS/MS degree in a related field from a reputable university and at least 3 years of Business Development experience in a fast moving / high growth brand and business
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience
  • Knowledge of B2B in Turkey (auto business knowledge is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of successful implementation of projects
  • Fluency in written and verbal English is compulsory
  • Best in class analytical skills and comfortable with a data-driven approach to decision making
  • Ability to multi-task projects and initiatives effectively and prioritize whilst continuously delivering results
  • Highly capable of meeting strict deadlines in a high-pressure, ever-changing and fast paced environment
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented and self-directed. Energetic, can-do attitude with a strong bias for action
