QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Six Senses Kaplankaya presents a mosaic of architecture, history and art, and is within easy reach many famed archaeological sites. There are 141 guestrooms including six suites (75 in the main building and 66 Ridge Villas), all boasting stunning views to the Aegean Sea. Aegean & Mediterranean-inspired fresh, sustainable cuisine interwoven with Turkish elements and flavors is the overarching theme of three dining venues, introducing ‘Eat with Six Senses’ concept by sourcing local and fresh products. The expansive 10,000 square meter Spa, Fitness and Health & Healing Center offers guests and residents a truly integrative approach to optimal wellness. Six Senses Kaplankaya is an idyllic destination for celebrations. It also has facilities to accommodate team-building programs. With many excellent guest experiences on offer, the resort can customize activities to suit active guests and guests who prefer to simply sit back and relax.

Scope

  • Ensure that all bars and beverage outlets are prepared and staffed correctly for service at the designated times and that all pre service activities by bar tenders have been carried out.
  • Ensure the prompt and efficient service of all beverages set by the resorts required standards.
  • Liaise with guests in a “out the box” manner regarding their beverage requirements and coordinating their instructions with bartenders. Guest contact of pre and after dinner drinks is essential.
  • Have a good knowledge of the wine list and be able to recommended wine in absence of a sommelier.
  • Have a full knowledge of guests likes and dislikes pertaining to drinks.
  • Ensure all mis-en-place for cocktails and drinks are correctly prepared prior to service in all beverage outlets.
  • Be aware of all local and importing liquor licensing laws.
  • Conduct and maintain frequent stock level checks and report discrepancies to the food and beverage director.
  • Keep tight control of stock ordering, storage and rotation to maximize profitability.
  • Have a full knowledge of all beverage items in stock and to be able to recommend up sell and substitute.
  • Ensure all beverage hosts are correctly uniformed and are of high grooming.
  • Ensure that all beverage consumable and non-consumable products are ordered, inventoried and issued correctly to outlets prior to service.
  • Ensure guest / room charges at points of sales are being managed.
  • Recommend and promote bar items as directed by the food and beverage manager.
  • Prepare monthly reports relating to service, breakage, beverage costs and inventories.
  • Ensure that all hosts pertaining to the service of beverages are aware of their duties and operating procedures within the resort.

Qualifications

  • Turkish nationality.
  • BA/BSc in Hospitality management or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years managerial similar position in bar; prefer in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills both in English and Turkish.
  • Additional languages are beneficial.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and PMS accounts.
  • Excellent sense of product and service quality, a passion for excellence and an understanding of the sophisticated needs of the luxury customer.
  • Great attention to details.
  • Ability to manage, train and motivate a variety of people.
  • Responsive, engaged and interactive with capability of building strong positive team.
  • Able to converse and resolve guest complaints/issues in a calm and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, counseling and decision-making.
  • Visibly proactive with excellent organizational skills, capable of providing focused leadership.
