QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Robsen Robotics Intern

Robsen is a robotics company mainly focused on metal shaping companies to support their processes. We understand customer requirements in detail and think about how we can contribute to their success. With our highly skilled team, we develop solutions with our passion for new technologies and innovative thinking. 

Robsen conducts R&D activities within different platforms collaborating with universities and research centres.

Our mission is to add value to our industrial partners’ processes with intelligent and technological solutions by providing world-class support.

We are seeking for high potential candidates to be evaluated at Robsen Robotics with the following qualifications;

  • 3rd/4th year university or master’s students,
  • Able to work min. 2 days/week,
  • 6-month commitment,
  • Very good command in English, (German is an asset)
  • History of academic excellence,
  • Strong analytical skills and mathematical foundation,
  • Desire to work in a team environment,
  • Proactive and team player,
  • Result oriented and Self-motivated,
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Comfortable learning new field and be able to work independently.

The purpose of our intern program is to mentor students in the Robotics/Machine Learning/Computer Vision fields while also providing them an opportunity to be considered for full-time employment upon graduation on based on their internship performance.

Innovative research interns will be focused with a passion on the research and invention of intelligent solutions to develop next-generation robotics systems at our research location in GOSB Teknopark, Gebze. Robsen provides classroom education and hands-on training.

Our internships are twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year. The second one will start at the 2nd week of October, 2020.

REF-CV: Computer Vision Intern

You will work on computer vision for 2D/3D industrial vision applications. You will have the opportunity to give better eyes to fully automated robotics systems. You will gain experience with real world-industrial problems while learning how to perform feature extraction, camera calibration and visual perception for robotics systems. 

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Work within Computer Vision engineering and learn how to design, implement, and deploy computer vision algorithms for object detection/recognition,
  • Creating image datasets using industrial camera systems,
  • Learn how to design tests for computer vision algorithm effectiveness and performance monitoring,
  • Learn how to use Halcon and scientific libraries such as NumPy, scikit-learn and OpenCV,
  • Learn how to calibrate camera and robot systems,
  • Examine edge technologies, create documentation and proposals for application into new products and tools,
  • Create and update technical documentation, test plans, and test results, analyse results and provide conclusive reports,
  • Manage and contribute in the review of technical documentation, test plans, and test results.

Experience/Skills/Special Requirements:

  • Interest in computer vision applications,
  • Interest in industrial camera and lighting systems,
  • Skills in design and implementation of algorithms,
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and data structures,
  • Strong algorithmic problem solving and software development skills in Python or C++,
  • Experience with 3D vision and point cloud-based applications is plus,
  • Experience with industrial machine vision libraries such as Halcon, scientific libraries such as NumPy, scikit-learn, OpenCV, PCL is plus. 

REF-ML: Machine Learning Intern

As a machine learning intern, you will work on machine learning for industrial applications. You will have the opportunity to propose actionable changes to fully automated robotics systems. You will gain experience with real world-industrial problems while learning how to perform data analysis, feature extraction, parameter tuning and optimization. 

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Work within ML engineering and learn how to design, implement, and deploy machine learning algorithms,
  • Coordinate data collection, feature selection and data labelling efforts,
  • Learn how to design tests for machine learning algorithm effectiveness and performance monitoring,
  • Learn how to use scientific libraries such as NumPy, scikit-learn and OpenCV,
  • Learn how to work with deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, Keras, etc.,
  • Examine edge technologies, create documentation and proposals for application into new products and tools,
  • Create and update technical documentation, test plans, and test results, analyse results and provide conclusive reports,
  • Manage and contribute in the review of technical documentation, test plans, and test results.

Experience/Skills/Special Requirements:

  • Interest in data-driven applications,
  • Interest in machine learning and deep learning,
  • Skills in design and implementation of algorithms,
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and data structures,
  • Strong algorithmic problem solving and software development skills in Python or C++,

Experience with frameworks such as Tensorflow, Keras or PyTorch on desktop, scientific libraries such as NumPy, scikit-learn, OpenCV is plus.
