QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Reed Turkey is looking for a “Scientific Communication & Affairs Specialist” for one of its client operating in Animal Health industry.

  • Veterinary & Scientific knowledge (Veterinary graduation is preferable.)
  • Experience of technical scientific and nutrition issues in a business context (Technical subject expert ideally related to food science, health & nutrition, veterinary science or another biological science)
  • Minimum 4-8 years of work experience in a professional setting
  • Communication skills (verbal & written) and Presentation Skills
  • Ability to create collaborative relationships with all functions and internal & external stakeholders
  • Ability to capture & leverage knowledge

  • Ability to deal with pressure and retain composure
  • External influence and collaboration mindset
  • Excellence in creating and maintaining internal networks within R&D, SRA, CA and marketing, as well as creating and maintaining external networks with veterinary specialists, KOLs, academicians, specialized media and scientific experts, sector relevant NGO representatives 


  • Develop and implement local Scientific Communication strategy with relevant internal/external stakeholders
  • Develop/adapt all scientific communication materials, training modules for local market
  • Create training environment and all other materials to ensure that the trainings are delivered effectively and to all parties necessary when requested.
  • Develop and follow up with associates during their onboarding period, so that they are equipped with all the information needed.
  • Develop and present technical/product/nutritional presentations to key internal and external stakeholders to disseminate information regarding Company, products and pet nutrition.
  • Provide technical/product support to key areas of the business including Consumer Care, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing/Sales/Digital teams.
  • Enhance internal and external reputation by identifying, interpreting, and influencing the emerging scientific environment.
  • Manage and further develop the network of key opinion formers, academics and others influencing Company standing in the scientific arena.
  • Serve as scientific spokesperson with general, scientific, and trade media when necessary.
  • Create a local strategy for Scientific Communication based on global scientific communication directives and local adaptations based on local unit’s priorities.
  • Plan and organize trainings for internal stakeholders (associates) including but not limited to: on-boarding, new product/product uplift training, sales representative and consumer care teams and external stakeholders (ex. customers in SPT, PRO and VET channel) to develop product knowledge and capabilities.
  • Responsible for presenting/nutritional trainings to internal & external stakeholders as required by the business unit (this can include but is not restricted to veterinarians, breeders, Universities, KOL’s)
  • Control updates on existing platforms and materials (ICD, brochures and local translation stickers) of existing or new product information for all channels.
  • Collaborate with critical stakeholders including Global and Regional Scientific Communications Manager, and local teams including CA Manager, all Pillar Heads, Marketing units, Consumer Care, Sales representatives.
  • Support marketing/sales and digital teams during product launches/product focusses providing training and technical materials as required
  • Support all teams when product knowledge is required and consumer care teams with veterinary/product quality issues/issues management as required
  • Serve as scientific spokesperson as required & provide technical/product support and represent Company at local conferences/exhibitions.
  • Initiate the development of science-based positions and guides the business on health and nutrition challenges
  • Develop the content, coordinate organizational details and deliver implementation of key signature events and activities of business unit with minimal supervision, in an aim to increase corporate reputation & brand loyalty
  • Monitor, interpret and communicate developments in science and nutrition, and assesses their impact upon the business
  • Manage and further develop the network of key opinion formers, academics and others that can influence Company’s standing in the scientific arena.
