Rabee Securities (RS) is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to expand its Research Team

Rabee Securities is headquartered in Baghdad with offices in Erbil, Suleymani and a liaison office in Istanbul, Turkey. Rabee Securities is licensed and regulated as a Securities Brokerage Company by the Iraqi Securities Commission (ISC). Since the beginning, we have continuously expanded the range of our investment activities to encompass a broad spectrum of financial services. Today we are one of the premier brokerage houses catering to institutional investors from the U.S., through a partnership with Auerbach Grayson of New York, and from Western Europe. Although capital market activities in Iraq are still at an embryonic stage, we believe that the market will witness tremendous growth in the next few years and we are prepared to grow with it, offering our customers all the assistance they require to navigate the country.

We are seeking Equity Research Analysts expand our Research team. The Analysts will be working in our İstanbul liaison office. They would contribute immediately to our team’s research products. This position requires a passion for equity research, intellectual curiosity, high skills in financial analysis, English and Arabic languages and work experience of between 3 and 6 years in equity research departments.

Duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

• Performing fundamental analysis of a company’s business. Building and maintaining financial models and projections.
• Publishing quarterly update reports for the coverage companies/banks.
• Conduct meetings with the listed companies on the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) which are mostly in Baghdad and building long-term working relationships with those companies.
• Identifying risk factors and advantages and disadvantages associated with the coverage companies.
• Making Baghdad trips (at least 4 times a year) to visit the ISX listed companies and outstanding institutions (Central Bank of Iraq, ISX) to improve relations with them, and providing value-added information about the recent developments to investors. (all costs will be financed by RS for Baghdad trips)
• Collaborate with other members of the team for regularly published reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Accounting. MBA, MSc in Finance and/or CFA designation required in case having a different bachelor’s degree.
• Between 3 and 6 years prior experience as a fundamental equity research analyst, or a similar level of experience at an investment management, investment banking, or accounting firm.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
• Superior written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic
