QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION


Description:   

We are looking for a Sales Manager to drive growth in the sales of English Language Teaching materials for Cambridge University Press in Turkey/Istanbul. This is a key position for a major ELT market in Turkey. This is an exciting role for a highly motivated individual looking to expand his/her experience in sales management and business development in the publishing world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Devising and implementing a promotional strategy for the territory based on detailed market analysis
  • Implementation of the strategy and driving the sales team to reach sales targets for institutional and trade business
  • Directing the activities of the Regional Sales Teams to focus on key customersManagement of sales pipeline with best effort.
  • Delivering presentations of the Cambridge University Press ELT list of products to customers and potential customers in schools.
  • Providing orientation and other support in the use of the materials to key customers, especially during the back-to-school period.
  • Travelling to domestic and international conferences and visiting customers on a regular basis.
  • Providing market and product feedback and analysis to the ELT team in Turkey, and to editorial colleagues around the world, towards the ongoing development of products for use in Turkey.
  • A team player and leader with good interpersonal skills and be enthusiastic about promoting some of the best-known and most respected educational resources.
  • Delivering teacher-training is desirable, but it is essential that having a good understanding of current trends in ELT (21st Century skills, CLIL, digital literacy etc.) and the drive and commitment to continue professional development.
  • Delivering product presentations and support to schools throughout the region, expected, at times, to deliver more general training, so a good grasp of teaching and learning methodology is a must.
  • Cooperate with Finance and Operations functions to support business development.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, financial and operational planning processes.

A good understanding of the ELT marketplace and current trends is desirable to make the most of sales opportunities and to influence publishing programmes. Partaking in market research and sales forecasting for individual products are also important aspects of this role.

  • Minimum 6 year experience in similar positions

  • No military obligations for male candidates

Successful candidates will be educated to degree level, have a clean driving licence, be excellent communicators and able to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers. Solid relevant sales and marketing experience in publishing/bookselling is strongly desirable as is experience of English language teaching and line management of a team.
