Mata Automotive is A Leading full-service supplier of decorative interior and exterior components in premium real materials to the global automotive industry.

The Research & Development Engineer will be a part of the Mata R&D team. In this role, he or she will participate in development of new products/systems for automotive interior and exterior trim and play a leading role in design and implementation of new manufacturing processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts research on new materials, process methods & equipment, collaborates with supply partners in the development and application of new technologies.
• Ensures product validation during development process from prototypes to released products, creates design validation plans in collaboration with project engineers, performs tests, prepares test reports and provides technical analysis with improvement proposals if needed
• Seeks funding opportunities for R&D work, writes grant proposals and evaluation reports.
• Identifies and implements cost reduction and/or quality improvement initiatives based on product and process improvements in collaboration with internal units.
• Plans and executes benchmarking activities
• Ensures creation and maintenance of product technical specifications from a validation perspective.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Material Science is required. An advanced degree in the same field is a plus.
• 1-3 years of automotive experience in R&D / Engineering / Project management is required. However, fresh graduates with good credentials and high passion and interest in automotive industry are also encouraged to apply.
• Excellent written & verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Fluency in English
• High attention to detail and a data-based, disciplined approach to problem solving
• Ability to work without micromanagement and be able to generate and implement his/her ideas targeting the problems.
