We are looking for a Head of Legal & Compliance to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Counsel of Marsh Continental Europe and the CEO of Marsh in Turkey.

Candidates are expected to have the following qualifications and skills:

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of work experience
• Qualification and license to practice law
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Experience of working in a multinational organization, preferably a financial institution
• Some knowledge of  insurance law and/or insurance intermediation industry
• Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
• Demonstrable training capabilities
• Diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently

Responsibilities

• Understand applicable law and regulation and monitor regulatory developments
• Manage and coordinate Compliance initiatives and projects working under the direction of the regional Compliance Officer, to ensure proper & timely deployment, including communications, training and reporting on progress
• Under supervision of regional Chief Counsel, handle legal matters
• Regularly meet with senior management to identify risks, challenges and needs and deliver appropriate advice and support
• Provide advice, training and support on all Compliance topics
• Respond to questions from business colleagues on application of Compliance policies and procedures
• Work with Global Compliance and regional Compliance Officer to ensure effective monitoring of policies across the sub-region, including scheduling, supervising and reporting on local monitoring activities
• As directed by the Mergers & Acquisition team, the Chief Compliance Officer and/or the Chief Counsel, conduct pre-acquisition due diligence and provide input to Legal & Compliance Diligence Reports, and implement post-acquisition Compliance integration plans
