Work with other members of Management team to achieve effective service to customer in terms of delivery, quality and cost effectiveness.

Responsible for Production and planning information relating to Logistics function.

Responsible for manning, maintenance and development of Logistics personnel.

Responsibility for the Logistics liaison with other departments to ensure the customer requirements are fully meet with regard to delivery, quality and cost effectiveness.

Responsible for production of Production plans, Supplier Schedules and related Logistics planning and monitoring information

Responsible for the effective co-ordination of raw materials, resources and transport to ensure customer requirements are meet at the right time within the right costs.

Responsible for the production information regarding Customer delivery performance, Supplier Delivery Performance, Raw Material Shortages, Stoppage Time, Transport Costs, Inventory Turns and any other information related to Logistics environment.

Responsible for training, development and encouragement of team working within the Department.

Responsible for effective functioning of Goods Inwards warehouses, including housekeeping (incl. dedicated outside areas) , stock control, personnel development, training, etc.

Responsible for the minimising of inventory levels within the supplier chain and transport costs.

Responsible for set up of Continuous Improvement Programmes within the logistics department

Ensure adequate controls and disciplines are undertaken and adherence to company rules and regulations.

Responsible for further development of EDI-installation, BAAN or other software systems and its usage, Kanban systems , other forms of JIT supply, and other logistic planning activities

Budgetary responsibility: inventory  value£ 1.5 million

Knowledge of Ford system is an asset 

Economic or technical university degree or comparable education.

Several years of Logistics Management experience, preferably in the automotive industry.

Intense Knowledge of Logistics Management and processes, commercial code.

MS Office, E-Mail (Outlook), Internet.
