Koç University will be hiring an International Projects Senior Specialist with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree is required (Social/Administrative Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical / Engineering Sciences). Having a Master’s Degree (any field) is a preference, but not a must
• Excellent command of English
• Ability to effectively analyze, summarize and communicate documents on funding opportunities
• Advanced coordination, organization and communication (mainly in terms of information multiplication) skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Having experience in working with international funding systems (chiefly, the European Commission grants / tenders system) is a preference
• Professional use of Microsoft Office application

JOB DESCRIPTION

 This is a “pre-award research administrator” position under Koç University’s Sponsored Research Office Directorate (SRO), with international career advancement opportunities in the profession. The International Projects support staff will have access to future resources for professional training in national and international programs targeting research administrators.

 SRO’s main mission is to support efforts of Koç University faculty members to bring in research funding from all relevant international and national sponsored research and innovation programs and industry collaboration. SRO’s primary responsibilities include providing direct support to individual faculty for matching their research needs with sponsors and sponsored programs, working one-on-one with faculty during proposal writing, dissemination of information regarding funding opportunities, preparation of consortium agreements and project contracts and supporting the development of research and innovation strategies at Koç University.

 The pre-award research administrator will be expected to:

• Multiply information within the university about international funding opportunities (main service group being faculty members and other researchers)
• Communicate and work one-on-one with specific laboratory / research center / project group / individual Principal Investigators (mostly faculty members) to understand their international funding interests
• Effectively match the interests of Principal Investigators with available funding opportunities; provide guidance and feedback for funding proposal development
• Coordinate (with relevant internal departments) and support the preparation of international funding applications assigned to them
• Prepare internal guides and help documents to assist the completion of relevant applications
• Maintain digital records of funding application interests and of completed applications; track the outcomes of international funding proposal submissions; prepare reports on submitted applications
• Support the grant agreement / contract preparation process for funded international proposals, in coordination with the Project Management Office Directorate
