We are looking for a teammate with the following qualifications to be assigned as "Compliance Specialist " in the Sustainability Department at our overseas client’s Levent office. Our client is renowned pioneer in the textile industry, originally based in Spain.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• Proven experience in building safety assessments and implementation of safety measures
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations and possible solutions
• Having social compliance auditing experience will be considered as a plus
• Passion for worker rights, excellent ethical values
• Strong communication skills and self-motivation
• Strong problem solving and follow up skills
• Strong analytical thinking to evaluate and analyze the data
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations
• Adaptable and flexible, adjusting to multiple demands, multi-tasking
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively at all levels within an organization
• Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
• Driving license is must with a significant experience in driving and navigating various traffic conditions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• To evaluate detected issues related to building structure based on the regulations and related guidelines and guide the suppliers for remediations
• To follow remediations and ensure that all agreed steps are followed properly
• To make a risk assessment by considering the detected issues and country risks (regulations, building structures and possible natural disasters etc)
• To share the inputs to improve standards on building safety
• Manage regular reporting requirements to the Compliance Manager.

The same person will also be trained as a social compliance auditor to fulfill below tasks:

• To conduct audits and prepare reports in line with audit methodology
• To lead communication with suppliers to identify improvement areas, root causes and capacity building
• To provide guidance and training to the suppliers on social compliance standards
• To stay updated with the latest developments in social compliance regulations and industry trends
• To follow the related channels for having knowledge on social issues that impacting workers
• Understanding international best practices – including the Company’s commitment to International Standards 
• Auditor position based in Istanbul, with extensive travel within Turkey and abroad as required.
