Main purpose of the mission:

In the context of consolidation a Centre for the rehabilitation of trauma for migrants in Istanbul, ensures the case management in order to improve the beneficiary’s situation, maximize his/her adherence to psychosocial services and medical referrals, thus to improve his/her overall condition.

The social worker supervisor monitors the day-to-day work of the social workers and ensures the quality delivery of case management support to refugees benefiting from Centre´s services, with a focus on facilitating refugees’ access to adequate services including registration, health, education, livelihood, and social safety programs provided either at governmental level and/or by NGOs.

Accountabilities:

• Provides guidance and supervises individual/family case management plans of beneficiaries under care at the Centre, and monitors the follow up work by the social workers.
• Develop a comprehensive, case management model and tools to be implemented.
• Improve the intake and other relevant assessments by creating and using case management toolkit that should include bio-psychosocial assessment, intervention plan, risk assessment, safety planning and exit strategy and fill in the follow up forms.
• Work with all beneficiaries seen at the Centre to fill in the care plans that will be reviewed with the beneficiary and professional involved in beneficiary’s follow up.
• Train and supervise social workers as the main actors involved in the case management.
• Work closely with all members of Centre’s team (social workers, psychologists, cultural mediator and staff in charge of medical referrals) to develop and follow up on the intervention plans in a culturally sensitive manner and ensure smooth and efficient internal referral processes across all sections.
• Promote and introduce the Centre´s services to relevant institutions, centers, professionals and acts in that sense as an important actor for the networking.
• Conduct mapping of services in the area of operations and document for use to ensure accurate referrals.
• Update the mapping on monthly basis.
• Ensure guidance for home visits, when relevant, as a tool of social assessment, to be carried out by social workers and document it, to develop further the integration of relatives in care system.
• Maintains accurate and confidential records and keeps track of all necessary figures and data related to case management and social work components.
• Provides regular feedback and accurate reporting on social work activities as required
• Ensures qualitative interventions through regular monitoring, review and follow-up
• In collaboration with other relevant staff, designs, organizes and delivers seminars and workshops on topics related to accessing governmental and other services to beneficiaries, partner staff, and other stakeholders
• Actively participate in discussions and case follow up through the multi-disciplinary team meetings.
• Attend regular meetings with PMR planned on weekly or biweekly basis.
• Supervising, in close collaboration with the HR department, the HR associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required.

Requirements:

Education:

University degree in Social Work (BA or Masters), Law or any related Social Sciences fields

Languages:

Good knowledge of English essential

Knowledge of Arabic/Farsi/French is an asset

Experience:

Minimum 2 years in the field of relevant social services sector.

Previous NGO / working with vulnerable groups is required

Experience in the humanitarian sector in Turkey, with a good understanding and up to date knowledge on the situation concerning refugees and migrants

Experience managing teams

Experience in legal counseling is an asset.

Knowledge:

Advanced knowledge of existing regulations, legal rights and social institutions.

Skills and Competencies:

Able to adhere to ethical considerations and principles in regards to working with vulnerable populations.
