Geological Engineer

Golder Associates Turkey is seeking Civil Engineer or Geological Engineer to join on-going Mining Facility (Heap Leach Facility and Tailings Storage Facility) Construction Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) projects in mining sector, on full time basis. The individual will be mainly responsible to control earthworks and geosynthetic works for projects related to the mining and solid waste industry.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:

•  Observation of construction activities,
•  Field and laboratory testing and evaluation,
•  Performing in-situ tests on earthworks,
•  Controlling on geosynthetic deployment, detailing and documentation,
•  Design interpretation to assure that projects are completed in accordance with project design drawings and technical specifications,
•  The engineer will be expected to interact with both contractors and owners in a positive and constructive manner to solve issues that arise during construction.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

•  Position requires understanding of civil and geotechnical engineering design and background in earthworks construction including the ability to read and understand technical civil design drawings and technical memos,
•  Position requires least three years of experience on liner works, earthworks and related quality control and documentations,
•  Knowledge of Civil 3D is preferable,
•  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook),
•  Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (in English),
•  Strong technical writing ability and reporting skills,
•  Flexibility and adaptability,
•  A genuine enthusiasm for the role, displaying a willingness to learn and develop,
•  Ability to and demonstrated experience of working in a collaborative manner as part of a team,
•  Ability to make decisions and display initiative,
•  Good organizational ability and time management skills,
•  Driving License (Class B),
•  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineer is must.
