Associate Accountant, Fund Accounting, Family Office / Izmir

The associate position entails evaluating, analyzing and reconciling investment fund accounts and separately managed investment accounts to determine the Net Asset Value (NAV) on a weekly basis and for the production of the shareholders month-end reports in accordance with the IFRS Standards.

The associate will assess the impact of investment manager trading activity on the investment portfolio returns and option market values and will also audit income postings, accruals, and corporate actions all within scheduled time frames. The associate will be responsible for performing exception resolutions of cash, holdings reports and price variances and also any activity in the investment accounts.

1.) Determine Net Asset Value (NAV) for Investment Funds on a weekly basis.

• Ensure accurate fund records through review of reconciliation reports

• Review expense analysis as well as creating new budgets

2.) Evaluate and reconcile funds including mutual, benchmark, commingled, and collective for production of month-end reports for daily valuation.

• Assist in distributing fund data to internal and external business partners as well as coordinate and review offshore production activities

3.) Analyze the impact of transactions, income positions, accruals, and corporate actions on the portfolio investment options.

• Assist in preparing and calculating tax information and reporting requirements

4.) Audit and resolve exceptions on assigned accounts according to procedures and within scheduled timeframes.

• Assist in audit coordination and Shareholder Report review

5.) Assist in the timely preparation of reports and financial statements in accordance with IFRS and performance standards.

• Recommend and participate in the implementation of changes and enhancements to the department
• Keep management informed of any problems that arise on his or her funds Assist on special projects as needed

6.) Record and respond to stakeholders’ inquiries resolving exceptions related to accounts.

IDEAL Candidates Should Be;

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mutual fund or asset management industry
• 4 year degree in a business field (preferably accounting or finance related)
• Relevant Masters or MBA is a big plus as well as side CFA/FRM
• Proficient knowledge of mutual fund accounting and IFRS accounting standards.
• Knowledge of tax issues, financial reporting and the use of spreadsheets
• Excellent analytical skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills

• Good level of English is required.
