Modelling Analyst

Our company is looking for candidates to work as a Modelling Analyst for our energy trade company GATES Enerji Ticaret A.Ş.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics or Engineering from a reputable university
• Knowledge of energy (especially Power & Gas) market mechanisms in Turkey and Europe is a plus
• Superior analytical, critical thinking: An attitude and practice of proactive idea generation and continuous review and improvement of processes
• Strong interpersonal / communication skills and enthusiasm to work in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment
• Self-starter, solution-oriented, strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of statistical data mining algorithms
• Solid experience in programming languages such as Python, R Studio, VBA or similar,
• Good command of both verbal and written English.
• Advanced usage of MS Office applications
• For male candidates, military service should be completed or postponed for at least 2 years

Job Description

• Develop and maintain short& long-term forecast of various energy markets within Turkey and Europe
• Develop mathematical models for various necessities of trading department
• Interpret scenario (model) outcomes into business decisions, and reporting
• Work with relevant stakeholders in development of key fundamental inputs for both supply and demand sides
• Challenge models, processes & tools to propose improvement
• Develop and maintain a database of inputs related to market and historical information
• Report ad-hoc or regular reports
• Perform market/ model research studies when necessary
• Collaborate with 3^rd party solution providers effectively
