• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in industrial engineer, maritime studies, logistics or a numerate discipline;
• 2 years working experience in container terminal operations, preferably ship and yard planning;
• Able to communicate in English proficiently;
• Computer literacy is required, proficient in TOS, MS Word and MS Excel programmes;
• A sound understanding of operational activities, including safe working practices;
• Knowledge of terminal layout and procedures;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work under sustained pressure in a noisy environment;
• The ability to organize and prioritise jobs, whilst under pressure in order to meet operational deadlines;
• To give directions to all terminal employees by making effective plans;
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail;
• Flexible approach and willingness to be involved in a variety of tasks;
• Ability to concentrate at all times;
• Team working skills are essential;
• Flexibility with the ability to work shifts and to work overtime.

İŞ TANIMI

• Plan and adjust the yard according to defined yard strategies for highest efficiency;
• Plan and continually monitor the landside and shipside operations for containers arriving in the stack and ensuring they will be met;
• Manage any Special Service Requests to ensure they are scheduled to proceed in an efficient manner;
• Provide a contact for operational communication to both internal and external customers on the status and movement of containers;
• Work closely with operational staff to ensure any lost, damaged or containers with special requirements are updated following in-house procedures and reported back to our customers;
• Administer and manage VBS as per planning and operational requirements;
• Maximize CHE utilization through the terminal while ensuring all work is carried out to comply with our commitments to VBS, internal customers and Depots;
• Monitor any container arriving that requires special handling or attention by the terminal to keep turnaround time down to a minimal level;
• Monitor the daily stack profile ensuring that the terminals yard import and export allocations are matching the terminals requirements for that shift;
• Have an accurate and up to date knowledge of equipment used at all times, decide on equipment requirement for every shift and adjust the deployment if required;
• To ensure operational requirements are being met including truck turnaround times, shuffle rates, ITV run distance and crane rates;
• Set up and monitor the berth’s container warehousing requirements to optimize the terminal’s efficiency;
• Continually monitor the VBS and interchange areas;
• Liaise with operations team to ensure that operations for empty containers handling of the empty stacks and the RTG stacks proceed as per schedule and in the most efficient manner;
• Have a thorough and full knowledge of the Company Operating Manual for all operations;
• Plan the discharge and load sequences of ships to minimize port stay with the resources available;
• Download Baplies and stowage plans as required;
• Make amendments to the stow as required;
• Visit Vessel Command with the plan to be approved prior to loading;
• Produce relevant paperwork & PDF’s for other operation and finance department;
• Plan Late or Held units in a late stow to give as much time as possible to arrive or clear;
• Answer queries from Vessel Command, Agencies, Shipping Lines, Government Authorities etc;
• Arrive and depart vessels correctly;
• Produce administrative reports accurately to complete statistical records;
• Ensure an effective and thorough handover at the end of shift;
• Ensure that a safe and healthy work environment exists, by adhering to company health, safety and environment policies.
