R&D / Senior Analytical Scientist

• PhD or university degree, preferably in Analytical Chemistry, with relevant work experience for at least 5 years
• Advance knowledge of relevant analytical instruments (HPLC, UV-VIS, FTIR and ICP-OES)
• Able to translate field problems into analytical technics 
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English 
• Creative and customer focused attitude 
• Good managing, planning and organizing skills 
• Has a pragmatic way of thinking and working, detail-oriented 
• Able to work with deadlines; flexible, independent 

We are looking for a “Senior Analytical Scientist” to our leading global chemical company who will execute EMEA analytical product and application support in conjunction with the EMEA business portfolio, to deliver the business strategic plans, with priorities established and agreed in the context of the company’s business plans. 

Responsibility and Scope of Action 

• Delivers all R&D product support service activities (Chemical Analitycal Support) by providing rapid and high quality customer support on chemistry related issues; that will include analysis (e.g. product composition, corrosion, water quality, residues, etc.), product compatibilities with materials, product performance tests (product evaluation and benchmarking), product issues diagnosis and complaint investigation; the activities will require the use of the common chemical lab techniques, but also a proven ability in using more sophisticated equipment like spectrophotometers UV-VIS, FTIR, ICP-OES and HPCL 
• Effectively applies knowledge of business, products and application area/processes to project assignments; includes basic regulatory knowledge
• Develops understanding of the countries and of the key customer needs across countries 
• Develops world class product evaluation techniques where applicable 
• Collaborates effectively with the other platforms and teams of R&D and with other relevant functional areas (e.g. Sales and Marketing) 
• Demonstrates problem solving skills; actively participates in problem identification and process improvement, taking actions to deliver required outcomes 
• Available to guide and train new technical employees
