      Purchase Engineer investigates the market with specifications and performance requirements for bearings and allied products, analyzes technical and commercial data based on the responses received, re-iterates with suppliers, recommending those most desirable using tools like supplier comparison tables. On approval, the Purchase Engineer issues the Purchase Order, tracks and expedites the supply, handles in-warding the material to the factory.

Skills & Experience:

• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
• Knowledge of Europe, India and China markets desirable.
• Hands-on experience working with ERP or equivalent Purchase module is a plus
• Understanding of supply chain procedures.
• Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
• Negotiation skills.
• Good English written and spoken.
• High Computer skills
• Min. 2-3 Years in Purchasing in Manufacturing Industry desirable

Education:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Identification of all requirements in requisition for purchase issued by Design/Engineering Department.
• Maintain the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with updates from suppliers after awarding the contract.
• Receiving the price quotations. (competitive quotes)
• Prepare schedule of comparison.
• Reiterate with engineering and suppliers for finalization of quality and quantity.
• Establish delivery terms, time and stages of inspection for the supplies.
• Ensure that all potential suppliers are provided with identical information upon which the quotations are given equal opportunity to meet the desired requirements.
• Negotiate the best payment terms and contract conditions, maintaining high level of integrity.
• Keep accurate records to justify the process and any other related decisions made in this regard.
• Issuance of Purchase order.
• Tracking and expediting of Shipment.
• Handle Delivery and checking inspection report, if required for selected items.
• Client acceptance/rejection, warranties and other related follow up matters with the supplier till completion of the P.O
• Keep updated with market developments and assist in Vendor Development.
• Regularly train on company development programs.
• Report on budget versus Actual performance on the purchases.
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
• Arrange and participate in meetings between suppliers and Company engineers and other personnel to facilitate standardization and economical procurement.
• Assist other functions as required.
