Quality and Welding Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS

·  University Degree in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.

·  Candidate should have Welding Engineer certificate.

·  Having minimum 5 years experience in welded construction business, preferably in the field of Hydro Power business.

·  Having experience on quality control activities especially on welded steel construction business.

·  Having good command of welding related standards, EN and ASME.

·  Having experience on Quality Management Systems.

·  Having experience on Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems isaplus.

·  Excellent command of written and spoken English,

·  Effective use of Microsoft Office Programs,

·  Technically & action oriented,  strong interpersonal & communication skills,

·  Strong planning and organizational skills,

·  Active team player, self-motivated and hard-worker,

·  Driving license (B) and being an active driver, no obstacle for domestic and international traveling,

·  Male candidates should have completed military service.

WELDING SUPERVISION;

·  Maintaining of Welding Personnel Qualification Records up to date.

·  Defining additional welder qualification needs

·  Monitoring of Welders’ and Welding Operators’ performance. Where required suspend further work of poor performing personnel and re-train them until required performance quality is achieved.

·  Maintaining the list of welding equipment, i.e. welding machines, electrode quivers, electrode drying or holding furnaces, heat treatment machines and auxiliaries, as up to date.

·  Maintaining of calibration (verification) records of welding equipment in regular intervals.

·  Control of proper functionality of welding equipment and auxiliaries.

·  Proper implementation, monitoring and control of Handling of Welding Consumables procedure.

·  Preparation of welding map and identification of individual joints in a systematical order.

·  Preparation and regular update of Daily Welding Supervision Log.

·  Checking and controlling of environmental conditions (e.g. protection from wind, temperature and rain) which might have any adverse effect to welding quality.

·  Allocation of welding personnel to the relevant tasks as per their qualification and competence level.

·  Planning and maintaining required appropriate equipment for preheating and post-heat treatment, including temperature indicators.

·  Arrangement of any production tests including test coupons, consumables, equipment and auxiliaries.

·  Defining the needs at workshop by preparing draft WPS details to Quality Engineer.

·  Attending to manufacturing team’s regular meetings to take timely actions and give feedback to team regarding with welding activities.

· Make sure that proper fit-up and all required special requirements (e.g. prevention of distortion) are meeting defined quality level prior to welding.

· Make sure that all welding parameters and conditions defined in the WPS are followed and executed 

accordingly.

· Checking of form, shape, tolerances and dimensions of the welded construction.

· Making sure that welding joints are ready for NDT inspection and timely inform NDT inspector on site for 

the execution of specified ITP steps.

·  Arrangement of PWHT setup, monitoring of results and preparation of PWHT records.

· In case repair of a welding seam is required, he/she shall ensure that Weld Repair Procedure is followed.

·  Direct reporting to Quality Manager for his duty and activities. Functional reporting to Workshop Manager 

and other team members. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

·  Implementation of quality assurance and control at workshop,

·  Supporting the workshop team to implement the company management system,

·  Executes incoming inspection of goods and interim storage,

·  Preparation and coordination of installation quality documentation (test plans, test procedures, 

WPS/PQR, welder qualification, identification and traceability of components, heat treatment etc.)

·  Support workshop team to ensure work is performed in accordance with project documentation,

 customer specifications, drawings and installation instructions.

·  Coordinating and performing inspections and tests at workshop,

·  Ensure that all measuring tools used at workshop are calibrated and safe guarded

·  Report and follow up of non-conformities

·  Facilitating the decision-making process for corrective actions with project and workshop team

·  Preparing the quality records of manufactured products

·  Providing support to customer inspections, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and audits in collaboration 

with Workshop Manager.

·  Implementation of the four-eyes principle for matters of quality and escalation if necessary

·  Support HQ by execution of inspection at supplier premises.
